Strengthening Our Community and Living Catholic Social Teaching: A Visit from the Catenians and CAFOD

At our Catholic primary school, we are blessed to witness the beauty of Christ at the centre of all that we do. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting two wonderful groups who share our vision of nurturing a compassionate and just world – the Catenians and their wives, as well as Steve from CAFOD.

A Warm Welcome for the Catenians and Their Wives

Our school community was delighted to welcome the Catenians and their wives, who were deeply moved by the spirit of our school. As they toured our school, they were amazed by the small, nurturing environment we have here, where each child is valued and Christ is at the heart of everything. The Catenians were particularly impressed by how we embrace the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives and the way our students embody kindness, generosity, and acts of service for others.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of the Catenians, and we hope that this visit marks the beginning of a lifelong partnership. Together, we strive to be Architects of a better world, called by God to act with love and compassion toward all people. Our relationship with the Catenians will continue to grow, with the shared goal of supporting one another and living out the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.

A Special Visit from Steve at CAFOD

We were also blessed to welcome Steve from CAFOD, who shared with us the work that CAFOD does around the world. CAFOD’s mission to fight poverty and promote justice aligns with the core principles of Catholic Social Teaching, which calls us to protect the dignity of every human being, promote the common good, and care for our common home.

Steve’s visit was a reminder to us all that we are called to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters across the globe, especially those facing hardship. The message of hope, justice, and compassion resonated with our school community, and we are proud to be part of the CAFOD family. We look forward to continuing our partnership with CAFOD, working together to create a world where all people can live in dignity and peace.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Keith and Rini

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Keith and Rini for their generous donations to our school. Keith and Rini presented our school with beautiful plants, which will brighten our gardens, and stunning handmade wooden rosaries, which will be treasured by our students. These thoughtful gifts are a symbol of their love for our school and their support for our mission. We are deeply grateful for their kindness.

Catholic Social Teaching in Action

As a school, we are committed to living out the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. The Catenians’ visit and Steve’s presence from CAFOD reminded us that we are all called to build a better world by upholding the dignity of each person, caring for the poor and vulnerable, and protecting the environment. These values are at the heart of our wider global family, and we aim to nurture these values in our students every day. We are inspired to continue our journey as a school that strives to create a more just and compassionate world. Together with our partners, including the Catenians and CAFOD, we are committed to following in the footsteps of Jesus and living out His message of love and service to others.

Looking Ahead

We hope that the relationships we have built through this visit will continue to grow and bear fruit for many years to come. We look forward to collaborating with the Catenians and CAFOD in the future, always striving to build a world that reflects the love and justice of Christ.Thank you once again to the Catenians and CAFOD for your generous support and for inspiring us to live out the values of our faith. Together, we can continue to be architects of a better world, guided by the love of Christ.

Let us continue to support one another in living the Gospel and being a beacon of hope to the world.
