School Council blog:

Congratulations to our wonderful, new members of the School Council who were elected by their classmates.

We had an excellent first meeting where we carefully considered school council roles, responsibilities and our purpose for the year. School council carried out their first very important decision by electing a chair and vice chair. Congratulations to Olivia and Mason in Year 6, who were voted in by their fellow councillors. They will be responsible for overseeing the meetings, ensuring that pupil voice is represented and that meetings run on time.

Our oldest members of School Council, Olivia, Mason and Richard, had the opportunity to attend an inspiring social justice conference last week. Where they were able to gain a deeper understanding of what social justice is and how small actions can help them to become architects of a better world. All three pupils were motivated to create an action plan for change in our local area which they confidently shared with other schools on the day. Over the coming weeks, they will be building on this and working closely with other pupil leadership groups.
