Trip to Waterstones blog:

This summer we enjoyed our fabulous trip, supported by the PTA to Waterstones, where we were able to select a book each for our school! We all chose with different thoughtful purposes in mind, it was incredibly challenging not just to select what we would want and to consider who else may benefit from our book once it had been purchased!

We looked at nature, religious, political, sanctuary and diversity topics. We considered themes and learning that would be happening in all year groups next year and some of us selected a book with another year group in mind. Following this, we made our way to our local parish and took some time to reflect and read. Each of our books now have a message to those who will enjoy them also, which includes the reason for our selection. We have currently used our book with our first purpose in mind. This ranges from our own read, an addition to our book corner, library bus or for a peer. Following this we will then redistribute so that everyone can enjoy our books throughout the year. We were so pleased with our purchases many of us couldn't help ourselves and continued reading on the minibus ride back to school! A lovely time had by all, many of us are enjoying reading our book selections over the holidays.

We can't wait to hear all about the plot lines and new knowledge you have gained come September from your fabulous reads!
