HSBC Visit:
Years 1, 2 and 3 had a fantastic time today welcoming staff from HSBC into school for some fun and exciting financial literacy and money workshops!
The children enjoyed thinking about money, careers and the choices we make. They explored how we can use and manage our own money, thought about the difference between our wants and needs, and considered the importance of setting goals and making sensible choices for the future.
Developing financial literacy from a young age is so important. It helps children begin to understand the value of money, how to make informed decisions and how the choices we make can help us work towards our goals. These are valuable life skills that will support them as they grow.
The workshops also gave the children an opportunity to think about the world of work and the different careers they might choose in the future. It is never too early to begin raising aspirations and encouraging our children to think about where their interests, skills and ambitions might take them!
This learning supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Global Goal 4: Quality Education and Global Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, helping our children develop the knowledge and skills they will need for their future lives.
A huge thank you to the wonderful HSBC staff who gave their time to visit us and make the sessions so engaging and enjoyable. The children had a brilliant time and learnt so much!
