Harvest Festival:
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Harvest Sing Song today. It was lovely to welcome so many families and to hear the children sing such a wonderful range of songs and hymns as we came together to celebrate Harvest.
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our school community. Thanks to your support, we raised an amazing £72 for the New Forest Basics Bank through ticket sales alone, helping to support local families who may be facing difficult times, particularly as the rising cost of living continues to put pressure on households.
We were also overwhelmed by the fantastic Harvest collection. Thank you to everyone who brought in tins, dried goods, toiletries and other essential items. The wonderful spread of donations was a real reflection of the kindness and generosity within our school community. We will also be adding produce grown on our school grounds to our harvest offering for the New Forest Basics Bank.
Our Harvest celebrations link closely to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Global Goal 1: No Poverty and Global Goal 2: Zero Hunger. Supporting the New Forest Basics Bank gives the children a meaningful way to see how small acts of kindness can make a real difference to people in our own local community.
We also hope you were all pleased to meet Canon Simon Thomson, our new parish priest, today. We are very much looking forward to welcoming him into school and getting to know him over the coming months.
Canon Simon will be joining us for our Tea and Talk on Thursday 22 October, so please do pop in, enjoy a cup of tea and say hello!
Thank you once again for your support, generosity and for helping to make our Harvest celebration such a special occasion. We are so grateful to everyone who attended, donated or helped us raise money for such a worthwhile local cause.
