Year 1 blog:
Year 1 went on an exciting school trip to St Barbe Museum, in Lymington!
Verity and the team taught Year 1 about the history of Lymington and about how our town has changed over time. We looked at photos, clothing and objects from time gone by and considered what has changed today.
The children loved spotting familiar places on the aerial maps and seeing what they looked like many years ago! This linked to our learning in Geography about our Local Area. We have been looking at simple maps of our school and locality in school. We thought about what makes the New Forest such a unique and fascinating place to live - then dressed up as some of our favourite animals to find in the forest!
There were so many interesting things to look at and touch — everyone was curious, asking questions and sharing what they already knew about our local area! Thank you St Barbe for a fabulous morning!
