Zambia Update:
We were so pleased to receive another lovely video from Eneless Patmos Community School in Lusaka, Zambia, and this time we were able to see the children proudly wearing the school uniforms donated by OLSJ, alongside other schools also helping their appeal.
It was wonderful to see how smart the children looked and, most importantly, how happy and proud they were to be wearing their uniforms. Seeing the uniforms being used and appreciated so much makes the connection between our two school communities feel very real.
Our friendship with Eneless Patmos Community School has developed over a number of years. Through the generosity of our families and the support of our school Governor, Roger Maughn, we have been able to donate school uniform, exchange pen-pal letters between pupils and raise funds to help the school purchase additional land so that it can continue to grow and support more children.
For the children at Eneless Patmos, a school uniform represents much more than clothing. It helps create a sense of belonging, dignity and pride, and reminds each child that they are an important part of their school community.
The latest video is a beautiful reminder of the difference that kindness and generosity can make. Something that may seem simple to us can have a lasting impact on a child many miles away.
Our partnership with Eneless Patmos continues to reflect our mission to become Architects of a Better World. It links closely to the Global Goals, particularly Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities and Partnerships for the Goals, and helps us live out Catholic Social Teaching through dignity, solidarity, service and care for others.
We are looking forward to sharing this new video with our children and celebrating another special moment in our friendship with Eneless Patmos School!
