OWWL blog:
Look what we've been working on in OWWL with Mrs Rothwell!
We have...
built two growing structures repurposing un-treated pallets and timber offcuts, weeded every bed, planted out squash, pumpkins, spring onions, broad beans, french beans, peas, carrots, spinach, sweetcorn and potted up strawberries and borage. We also started off some more aubergines, onions, french beans, peas and nasturtium.
Other jobs included tidying up the new poly tunnel, sorting through a generous seed donation (thank you Ms Nash!) and distributing more soil to the beds that needed it.
We have also independently constructed frames for the runner beans to grow upon later in the season. We now have two sturdy frames upon which our beans should thrive! One of which we’re planning to grow some shade loving plants underneath, the other is a tunnel that we’ll be able to enjoy going through as the plants grow!
We also managed to sow some seeds ready for Christmas (already!), some cucamelons and some successional seeds of other produce we have growing already. Haven't we been busy?!
