Year 1 blog:

We would like to say a huge thank you to the RNLI for visiting Year 1 and delivering such an engaging and informative talk. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about water safety, the history of lifeboats and the important role the RNLI plays in keeping people safe at sea.

The visit linked perfectly with our learning about Grace Darling, helping the children make connections between past and present rescue work along the coast. We also learned about the role of the coastguard and what to do in an emergency, including how to contact emergency services if someone is in danger near the water. We role played saving a teddy bear with the throw bag and ropes! Thank you again to the RNLI for sharing their knowledge and helping us learn such important life-saving information.
