Girls' football tournament:
Year 5 and 6
This week our enthusiastic Y5 and Y6 gils entered a local tournament to compete against various other schools from the local community. In their first group game, the team drew 1-1 with Lymington, Penelope scored a brilliant goal. In the next game they managed to defeat William Gilpin 2-0. This saw Phea-Rose score 2 goals! The girls qualified for the semi final but unfortunately were defeated 1-0 to Milford in a very close game. However, in the bronze medal play off, Isla and Penlope's goals ensured the girls finished third. All the team played with fantastic determination and spirit, well done girls!
Year 3 and 4
A big well done to our Year 3 and 4 girls who put themselves out of their comfort zones and competed in their first ever competitive matches, for some of the girls this was even their first time playing football! The girls were defeated 2-0 to South Baddesley in the first game but then went on to do better against Lymington (2-1 loss) Congratulations to Sienna who scored a fabulous goal. The girls also competed in a bronze medal match but despite another goal from Sienna they were defeated 2-1 to Milford. A special mention to Ariana who made several great saves in goal! Again, a brilliant team effort from all the girls. We are looking forward to more great matches in the future.
