Year 5 First Aid Training
Year 5 really enjoyed taking part in an online First Aid training session with Julia from the British Red Cross this week.
During the session, the children watched a range of different first aid scenarios and then answered questions about what they had seen. They learned how important it is to stay calm, feel confident and know what to do if someone needs help.
The session covered a range of important topics, including how to help someone who is unresponsive and breathing or not breathing, head injuries, swallowing something harmful, heavy bleeding and burns. The children also learned where they can find further information and support.
It was a valuable opportunity for Year 5 to develop important life skills and build their confidence in knowing how to respond in an emergency.
This learning supports Global Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being by helping pupils develop the knowledge and confidence to respond safely in a first aid emergency and support the health and wellbeing of others. It also supports Global Goal 4: Quality Education by giving children practical life skills that they can use beyond the classroom and helping them become more confident, responsible and informed members of their community.
