Year 1 Parent and Pupil Workshop

Year 1 pupils and parents enjoyed a Pip and Pap Phonics workshop together, reading the Pink Phase story "Zair's Hair" together!

They recapped the following grapheme-phoneme correspondences together as part of the book:

/ow/ in words such as brown and town

/oi/ in words such as foils and appointment

/ear/ in words such as near and beard

/air/ in words such as hairdresser and eclair

/ure/ in words such as pure and sure

In the story, Zair changes the colour of her hair!

Pupils then made their own colour wheel, to use in a scavenger hunt! Aren't they lovely?
