The Blue Cross. Apr 2021.

On Tuesday 20th April, Year R,1 and 2 had a virtual assembly with the Blue Cross!

We were taught all about different pets and how to look after them at home!

We learnt that there were 5 animal welfare needs:

Food and water

Environment

Protection

Company

Behaviour

We discussed the pets that we have and how we take care of them, as well as what pets need to ensure that they are happy.

The children enjoyed deciding which food was best for which animal, as well as whether they need to be around friends or prefer to be on their own.

Did you know carrots are good for dogs? They are a good source of fibre and low in calories! Chocolate is poisonous to dogs, as well as grapes so they should not eat these!
