Travel Ambassador blog:
Year 5 and 6 Travel Ambassadors recently took part in a virtual training session with Hampshire County Council to help make our school and local community a safer place for everyone!
As part of their role, the pupils learned all about how they can promote road safety, encourage safe travel, and help others make smart choices when getting to and from school.
One of the key messages they focused on during the training was “Be Bright, Be Seen” — especially important as the darker evenings draw in. To help spread this message, our ambassadors got creative and designed some fantastic t-shirts to raise awareness of the importance of wearing bright and reflective clothing when walking or cycling during autumn and winter months. Their designs were fun, eye-catching, and carried powerful safety messages.
They also explored some important local issues affecting road safety in Hampshire, including speeding concerns and the importance of looking out for one another near busy roads.
We’re really excited to see our ambassadors take the lead on road safety initiatives across the school. Their passion and commitment to helping others stay safe is truly inspiring.
Watch this space for more updates as they launch their campaigns and spread the word: Be bright, be seen – and be safe!
