OLSJ Expo:
It was wonderful to welcome so many parents and family members to our Expo Show. Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate the children's learning with us. Your support means so much and the performances were a fantastic way to reflect on everything we have achieved together this year.

This year's Expo Show celebrated our journey as Architects of a Better World, with every year group sharing how their learning has been inspired by the United Nations Global Goals. It was a powerful reminder that we can all make a positive difference to the world around us!
Our children spoke with confidence, enthusiasm and pride as they reflected on their learning:
Year R explored Global Goal 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, sharing their learning about the people who help us in our local community and the important role they play in keeping us safe and healthy.
Year 1 focused on Global Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. They explained how innovation in lifeboat design has helped save lives, drawing on their visit from the RNLI and their learning about Grace Darling.
Year 2 presented their work on Global Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. They beautifully linked their Literacy work on "Dear Earth" with their History learning about Florence Nightingale, showing how her work in Scutari Hospital continues to influence the NHS today.
Year 3 highlighted Global Goal 14: Life Below Water, sharing their learning about protecting the Great Barrier Reef and the importance of caring for our oceans.
Year 4 explored Global Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities. As a proud School of Sanctuary, this is a goal that is especially important to us. The children shared thoughtful reflections inspired by book "The Journey," reminding us of the importance of compassion, belonging and inclusion.
Year 5 focused on Global Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, discussing their learning about the coltan mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Fairtrade and the importance of making responsible choices in a global economy.
Year 6 delivered a thoughtful and moving presentation linked to Global Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Through their learning about the Second World War, they reflected on the lessons history teaches us and how we can all play a part in building a more peaceful future.
Throughout the performance, the children spoke clearly, confidently and with immense pride. Their presentations were interwoven with beautiful songs, making the Expo Show a joyful and fitting celebration of another remarkable year of learning.
The afternoon also provided a special opportunity to say goodbye to Fr David and Linda Guilding, who have served our community with such kindness, generosity and faith. They truly have been Architects of a Better World, and we thank them for all they have given to our school family.
As a lasting gift, Mrs Rothwell and the children created a beautiful planting box during their OWWL sessions. Decorated with handcrafted string hearts, each etched with the children's names, it is a heartfelt reminder of the love and appreciation of our school community. We hope it brings Fr David and Linda much happiness.
Well done in particular to Year 6, who narrated the performance. You were simply amazing! We are so proud of the way you shared your learning, celebrated our school values and demonstrated that together, we really can be Architects of a Better World. Thank you for making this year's Expo Show such a memorable success. It was a beautiful way to round off an exceptional year; and your exceptional journey with us at OLSJ!
