Year 2 Titanic day:
What an incredible day we have had in Year 2 as we stepped back in time to experience life aboard the RMS Titanic! The children arrived looking absolutely fantastic — dressed as elegant first-class passengers, hopeful third-class travellers and dedicated crew members. The effort from all three classes was outstanding, and it truly felt like we were setting sail in 1912.
A special mention must go to Ethan, who brought in his amazing LEGO Titanic model — built at home with over 2,000 pieces! The detail was phenomenal and it quickly became the centre of attention in our classroom. Thank you, Ethan, for sharing such an impressive creation with us.
The creativity did not stop there — Emily came in dressed as the iceberg! Her chilly costume was a big hit with everyone and added a touch of fun to our day (and a reminder to steer clear!).
As part of our Titanic experience, the children worked together to create a fantastic performance retelling the story of the ship's famous voyage. With narrators, passengers, and dramatic moments from start to finish, they wowed their audience — our friends in Year R — who listened beautifully and were full of questions afterwards. The cast included Mia, Caitlin, George, Ben, Arlo, Theo, Oliwia, Charlotte, Holly, Charlie, Ethan, Emily, Eddie, Milly and Chloe — each one of them played their part brilliantly.
It was a day full of imagination, learning, and laughter — a true Titanic success. Well done, Year 2! I’m so proud of you all.
