Eco blog:
This week at OLSJ, we have been reflecting upon God's creation. We took it in turns to find out what was inside Miss Calton's bag and think about how it was important to us. We found... fruits, vegetables, crafts made from recycled paper, cuddly rabbit, twigs and seeds! We recognised that God provides us with wondrous gifts and that Spring is a beautiful time of year to reflect, be thankful and marvel in his Creation. We thought about how to reduce, reuse and recycle. We also discussed how human kind is part of God's creation too and that we are marvellous beings! We recognised that everything we had discussed had God's loved poured into it.
We listened, watched and reflected upon this video:

Miss Calton shared that in the same way we marvel at the stars on a clear night or can be amazed by the view from the top of a mountain, grown ups marvel at us too! From the moment we are created we are special and have so many gifts and love to share.
This Spring, we continue to propagate and plant seeds and prepare our beds ready to create some wonderful creations. Our teachers have been busy taking our ideas and creating a draft plan of our veg beds for us this year.
Did you know that we are increasing our produce by 100% this year! We all have 2 year group planters each and a brand new polytunnel! We are creating shelves inside by using pallet wood to ensure we remain sustainable. We have also placed our large water container in our gardening space. This can be used to decant our water butts onsite over the year so that we can maximise water storage and hopefully never use the taps in the summer months for our beds. Take a look at our photo updates to see what you think we might be growing!
P.S Our grown ups are INCREDIBLY impressed with how neatly we put our wellies away all by ourselves!
