Year 2 blog:
Writing
The children created their own non-chronological reports on mythical creatures, and the results were fantastic! They thoroughly enjoyed designing and inventing their mythical beasts, and their writing was impressive. They used vivid details, expert vocabulary, and a variety of sentence types and openings to captivate and engage the reader. It was lovely to see that some children even went home to create even more mythical creatures and reports and then they brought these into share with their classmates! Keep up the amazing learning Year 2!
Science
This term, we’ve been exploring animal life cycles. We’ve learned about the different stages of the human life cycle and compared them to the life cycles of other animals. Along the way, we've expanded our vocabulary, including new terms like “offspring,” which children are now using in their writing and discussions. We’re also gearing up for a very exciting event – the hatching of some special eggs! These eggs will hatch into ducklings, and we’ll have the chance to closely observe, monitor, and care for them until they leave us at the end of the term. Stay tuned for plenty of duckling updates!
