Year 6 blog:

Year 6 went to Mansel Park Primary School to watch a brilliant performance of Macbeth with their Year 6 peers from across our partnership schools. It was full of drama, excitement and even a few spooky moments that kept everyone on the edge of their seats!

Seeing the play live was inspiring and brought the characters to life for the children. We could see Macbeth’s ambition, Lady Macbeth’s determination and all the tension that makes this Shakespeare play so famous.

After Christmas, Year 6 will use this experience to help them with their writing. They will be creating monologues, stepping into the shoes of Macbeth or Lady Macbeth and trying to capture their thoughts and feelings just like the actors did on stage. Watching the performance has given the children so many ideas and will help make their writing even more powerful. It was a great afternoon out!
