Year 5 blog:

Last week, Year 5 went on a trip to the Mayflower Theatre to see the Welsh National Opera live. We had a great time listening to classical music and seeing which pieces we recognised, and we were very impressed by the singers' voices and their outfits.

The best part of our visit was joining in with a song about a storm. We used body percussion—like tapping our fingers, clapping, and stomping our feet—to make the sound of rain and thunder. It felt like we were part of the orchestra, making the storm come to life!

We are grateful to the Mayflower and the WNO for giving us this opportunity, and we are excited about returning for the pantomime next month!

"It was a great opportunity to listen to a lot of different instruments."-Tilly

"I think the people who sang were very talented."- Evie

"I think they were very good at playing the different instruments, especially when they taught us how to conduct, and the trumpet player taught us how the trumpets work."-Immi
