Reading Ambassador blog:
‘Reading is important because it helps us learn. It is important to read together at home because we feel more confident and comfortable knowing that our grown ups are there to help us read difficult words and understand meanings.’

Reading Ambassador
Our Reading Ambassadors have been hard at work this term, diving into an exciting project exploring the diversity within our school's reading curriculum and core reading spine—the carefully chosen books we teach in each year group. As part of their role, the ambassadors have been reviewing the texts we share across the school, looking closely at the authors, themes, and genres represented. Not only does this variety help ensure that every child can see themselves reflected in the stories they read, but it also opens windows into experiences beyond their own. We believe this is vital in helping to build empathy, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading.
Our Reading Ambassadors are passionate about making sure our book choices continue to reflect the world we live in, and we’re proud of their commitment to helping shape a rich and inclusive reading environment for everyone.
We’ve been busy preparing for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, and we’re excited to get everyone involved! Our aim is to keep the joy of reading alive over the holidays by encouraging all pupils to dive into books throughout the summer break. Details about how to take part, along with recommended reading lists and how to earn rewards, will be shared soon—so stay tuned!
