Eco Update:
A special Easter gift…
Just before we broke up for the holidays, a member of staff mentioned he’d noticed a robin flying in and out of the sports shed on the field! Mrs Rothwell went to investigate during the Easter Break, and found a nest in there with 4 tiny eggs inside - the Mummy Robin was very diligent and responsible in her duty to protect and nurture her babies!
The first week of the holidays held a real treat in store… those 4 little eggs had hatched and 4 miniature robins with their eyes closed were in the nest eagerly waiting for their parents to return with tasty treats from around the OLSJ grounds.
Mrs Rothwell popped back in three more times over the holidays and checked in on them and took pictures of them each time. Finally, returning to see them this first week back, on Friday we had the pleasure of watching 2 of them take their first flight! Mummy Robin was very close by to make sure her babies were safe and well! Such a joy to behold!
