Year 6 blog:

Last night finished with a game of Aeroball... It was a highlight of the evening activities so far.. our favourite game of 4 square but with a twist.. in trampolines with basketballs and hoops!

Today started with a very relaxed feeling... We were so sleepy from all our activities that we went straight to bed and slept until 7.30am! Our lovely PGL member Libby, gave us a later breakfast slot for the remainder of the week so we can have a well needed relaxed start to the day. We enjoyed being in our pyjamas a little longer and having chit chats in our bunks together.

We've begun to feel really organised and are now asking our OLSJ grown ups to check our rooms because we are so proud of how tidy they are. We even used our diaries and notebooks to make checklists of things we might need to pack and prepare before our day at the beach began.

We spent the morning sailing! We waded in and climbed aboard the speedboat. We were taken out to our moored boats and climbed aboard. It was brilliant! It became cold and the wind picked up so we headed back to shore for our towels, hoodies and finally a well awaited warm shower! Lunch was Beef bolognese, salad bar and many types of sandwiches, rolls and chips! Our favourite drink is 'Mix it up' which is lime, lemon, peach and strawberry ice water all in one.

After feeling refreshed and full, we had some brilliant news.. the sun was out, the wind has dropped and we are off to canoeing! First, we had to tackle getting into our own wetsuits. This took a lot of unexpected resilience but.. we did it! We felt a bit nervous about canoeing but we were incredibly brave and gave it a go! This week we have been working really hard on using our voices. To speak up about how we feel and what we want and need with each other and new grown ups. We've learnt that when we use our voice and champion others to do so, people always listen because they want us to be happy and safe, even people we don't know as well. This is one of our proudest achievements.

We have enjoyed playing board games together, sharing ones from home and learning new ones. It has been so funny seeing each other and our OLSJ grown ups doing silly actions and racing around. Miss Walker gave 'Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza' a good go, Mr Clark joined in with the funny chants for 'Hurry Up Chicken' and Miss Calton has been leaping around like a frog!

We're off to dinner and our evening activity.. stay tuned for tomorrow's events!
