OLSJ Athletics team

More success for OLSJ Athletics team

After the athletics victory from Year 5 and 6 it was now the turn of Year 1 and 2 to compete on the track and in the field. The children began with a vortex throw and there were some brilliant throws especially from Casper who showed brilliant throwing technique. The children then competed in the 200 metres, standing long jump and 50 metre sprint.

The final event was a cannon relay involving all 8 children. With the team taking nothing short of a humongous lead after 6 legs, there was then a spot of confusion with which direction to run on leg 7 but this was shortly resolved and Henley was able to keep the lead on leg 8 and take victory. The team finished 1st overall and were deservedly rewarded with their gold medals and winning shield.
