Southampton Lord Mayor School Tree Initiative

We are absolutely thrilled to have been donated a tree by the Lord Mayor of Southampton and the team at Balfour Beatty, who came to plant a tree with Gardening Club, Year R and our Eco Leaders today.

The Lord Mayor (Councillor Jacqui Rayment) in fact came along to meet the children and with her colleague Jo delivered a presentation about the tree we were receiving. As we are linked with several Southampton schools, the Lord Mayor kindly agreed to share a tree with OLSJ too, as part of her celebrations of being the 800th Mayor of Southampton.  

We have been donated a beautiful Field Maple which we will care for on our school grounds. Thank you so very much to Councillor Jacqui Rayment for her visit and for her generosity. We are thrilled to have received such a beautiful tree.
