Go Purple for Epilepsy Day
Today at OLSJ we all wore purple in support of World Epilepsy Day!
Year 6 prepared a special assembly to teach everyone about epilepsy, which impacts 1 in 100 people and how you can support anyone who is having a seizure.
With the support of Zach at CARITAS, we also planted lavender and purple flowers on the school grounds, so that we have a permanent 'purple' presence in support of epilepsy awareness. Thank you Zach for all of your help!
We also raised £140.50 for Support Dogs, the only organisation in the UK to provide and train seizure alert dogs for those with epilepsy. Thank you for your generosity.
A big thank you to Shallowmead Nurseries, Stewarts Garden Centre, Everton Nurseries, Folium & Flos and Setley Ridge Garden Centre who all donated purple plants or vouchers to support us today. A big thank you to Kinga's mum who crocheted some beautiful purple flowers for children to wear. We are so grateful for the support of our local community.
