Year 5 & 6 Remembrance Service at St. Mark's, Pennington

Year 5 & 6 took part in the Remembrance Service at St. Mark's on Monday 11th November 2019.

The children created beautiful wreaths in their art lessons to take with them to the church, made by sewing felt poppies and binding them using the willow from the tree in the Year R garden. They also created beautiful 'garden poppies', from recycled materials. These were left at the War Memorial in tribute to those who died in battle.

We thank Mary King and her knitting group in Hythe, who made us beautiful knitted poppies to wear to the service.
