CAFOD Visits:
We were delighted to welcome Steve from CAFOD this week for some special workshops around Advent and World Gifts.
The children learned about the true meaning of Advent as a time of hope, preparation, and kindness. Steve helped them reflect on how even small actions can make a big difference in the lives of others around the world. They also explored the wonderful range of World Gifts, discovering how gifts like water pumps, trees, animals, and emergency support can transform communities in need. These workshops also linked closely to several of the UN Global Goals: such as No Poverty, Zero Hunger and Clean Water helping the children understand how their actions connect to global responsibility and caring for our common home.
This visit also tied in beautifully with the end of the Catholic Jubilee Year. As we come to the close of this special year of renewal and mercy, the children were reminded of how our faith calls us to reach out with compassion. It linked perfectly with our Advent Mass celebrated with Fr David and Linda Guilding, helping us reflect on gratitude, service, and beginning the new Church year with generous hearts. Thank you Steve for a wonderful visit - we very much enjoy working with CAFOD.
