Year R blog:

This week in Year R, we have become fully immersed in the world of the Gingerbread Man.

In our writing lessons, we have been working on our own story maps making us prepared to become expert storytellers to write our own versions of the story.

In Science, we conducted an investigation to find out what would happen to the Gingerbread Man if he had chosen to get into the water and cross the river. We put on our scientist hats and made predictions on what we thought would happen to him and carried out different experiments to answer our question.

In our Expressive Arts and Design lessons, we used our knowledge of malleable materials to mix together a sumptuous smelling gingerbread dough, we then used the skills and techniques we have developed previously to roll out and shape the dough into a cheeky little Gingerbread Man which we then decorated with his key features. Finally, we enjoyed tasting our delicious treat before he ran off!

What a busy week!
