Big Lent Walk:
During Lent, our school community took part in CAFOD’s Big Lent Walk. Each child aimed to walk or run 1km, and together we worked towards an amazing combined distance of 100km, despite some blustery weather!
The event encouraged us to think of others during Lent and reflect on how our actions can support people around the world. The money raised will be donated to CAFOD, with a special focus on supporting projects that provide life-saving access to clean water for communities in need.
CAFOD (the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) works with communities across the world to help end extreme poverty and global injustice, supporting people to build safer, healthier futures.
Our Big Lent Walk for CAFOD also promotes several of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development, including Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal 1: No Poverty, reminding us that we can all play a part in creating a fairer world.
CAFOD is the chosen charity of our Prayer Leaders, making this event especially meaningful for our school. We are delighted that together we raised £171 online and £106 in cash, making a grand total of £277! Thank you to our parents and wider school community for your continued support of CAFOD's important work.
