Blessing of the Animals:

Each year, Our Lady of Mercy & St Joseph Church in Lymington embraces the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with a heartfelt tradition—the Blessing of the Animals. This special event brought together students, staff, families and parishioners to bring their beloved pets to church for a blessing from Father David, fostering a sense of community and gratitude for God's creation.

From wagging tails to curious noses, the church was alive with excitement as pupils, families, and their beloved pets came together to celebrate God’s wonderful creation. The Blessing of the Animals serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness of all God's creatures and our duty to protect and cherish them. It was wonderful to see OLSJ pupils past and present at the church for such a special event!
