Year R Pip and Pap Workshop

Year R parents and pupils enjoyed a Pip and Pap Phonics workshop together today, reading Orange Phase Book 14, "The Rat."

They recapped the grapheme-phoneme correspondences:

'ck' - in words such as 'stuck' and 'stick'

/r/- in words such as 'run' and 'drops'

/u/- in words such as 'sprints' and 'run'

/e/- in words such as 'rest' and 'step-mum'

After reading the story together, pupils and parents then made their own rats and mice, to wear as masks! Aren't they lovely? 

We run parent and child workshops every other week at OLSJ, in years R-2. Please ask your child's class teacher or the office for more details.
