Year 6 blog:

Year 6 travelled back in time to World War Two, without even leaving the classroom! St Barbe's Museum brought in amazing old objects and boxes of clothes for us to dress up in. Some of us became air raid wardens, others evacuees!

We learned what life was like for people living in Britain, especially around the New Forest, during the war. It was surprising how much everyone had to help - from women joining the Civil Defence to families taking care of evacuee children.

Our favourite part was getting to handle real wartime equipment and imagining what it would have been like to use it every day. We talked about rationing, air raids, bomb site maps and how people kept going even when times were tough.

Thank you Verity for a fabulous session!
