As part of the Big Help Out initiative for the Coronation of King Charles, pupils went out into the local community to help and support others.
Pupils went to Belmore Lodge and Farringford Court, both local residential care homes, to read stories to residents. Pupils loved sharing story books that they had chosen with residents, and also brought some of their artwork and written work to share. The residents loved hearing the children read and enjoyed talking to our pupils about what they are learning in school.
Both residential care homes complemented our students on both their reading skills and behaviour and we are hoping to make our visits more regular as both parties enjoyed the session so much!
