Poetry Club
Our poetry club have been working very hard on a Monday evening, learning three poems each for the 'Poetry By Heart' competition.
Each child must learn a contemporary poem written after 1914, a poem from pre 1914, and also learn their part in our group 'freestyle' poem.
These will all be filmed and sent to the Poetry By Heart competition for consideration. The winners will get to read their poem at The Globe Theatre, in London!
Here is our 'freestyle' poem - "There Was An Old Lady That Swallowed A Fly", by Anonymous (1953.) Did you know that this was a poem, before a song? Neither did we! But we absolutely loved performing it. We hope that you enjoy our video, and that it makes you smile!
