CAFOD Visit blog:
CAFOD Visit
We were delighted to welcome Steve from CAFOD into school this week to help us celebrate the Catholic Jubilee. A Jubilee in the Catholic Church is a special year of joy, renewal, and forgiveness, when we are reminded of God’s mercy and invited to grow in faith, hope, and love.
Steve led an inspiring assembly that encouraged us to reflect not only on this Holy occasion, but also on the values of community, service and caring for one another. The children really enjoyed the activities he shared in their individual classworkshops and they learned how CAFOD works with communities around the world to bring hope and support to those in need.
By linking the Catholic Jubilee to CAFOD’s mission, Steve helped the children see how kindness, generosity and unity are values that we can all live out in our everyday lives. The session was both thought-provoking and uplifting, giving us lots to talk about back in class.
A big thank you to Steve for his time and for helping us to learn more about the work CAFOD carries out and how we can play our part in celebrating the jubilee!
