Year 3/4 Football- OLSJ 4 - 5 Springhill

Our Lady and St Joseph’s first football fixture of this season saw them take on the very

reputable Springhill Catholic School from Southampton. The year three and four team also featured Jamie from year 2. Although this selection of players had never played before, they were fast out of the blocks and took a 2-0 nil lead thanks to a brilliant individual effort from Luke and a great team goal finished off by Scott. At halftime Our Lady led 2-1. The second half didn’t quite eclipse the first and Springhill scored 2 quick goals to take the lead. Our Lady then equalised but Springhill were to regain the lead then build a 5-3 cushion. The team’s persistent determination saw them claw one back and they searched intensely for the equaliser for the next 3 minutes. Several excellent attacks and a superb save on the line earned Springhill a victory in a game of great spirit, determination and sportsmanship.
