Social Justice Conference:

Corpus Christi Social Justice Conference

Our Year 6 Sanctuary and Prayer Leaders attended a very special Pupil Conference at Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School in Boscombe today, centred on the theme of social justice.

Designed especially for young people, the event brought together pupils from all of our partnership schools, along with others who had travelled from as far as Somerset.

Caritas CEO Raymond Friel delivered the keynote address, encouraging pupils to use their voices to shape the future—both in their local communities and across the world. Together, we explored urgent issues affecting our planet, such as environmental challenges and global questions of social justice. The children reflected on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching—participation, stewardship, solidarity, and a preferential option for the poor, and how these can inspire us to become Architects of a Better World and true agents of change.

Working collaboratively, our pupils developed an action plan to support our local community. Our Sanctuary and Prayer Leaders focused on ways we might reach out to older members of the Lymington community at Christmas time. They came up with some exciting (and tasty!) ideas to bring back to school—so watch this space! We were incredibly proud of the way they presented their plan with confidence to a hall full of teachers, senior leaders, diocesan representatives, and fellow pupils!
