Year R had an absolutely wonderful time on our 'Big Walk' for Lent, in aid of CAFOD today, in Blackwater Arboretum, Rhinefield.
The children walked a slightly adapted route from their peers, at 1.1km each, which now takes our school combined total to 112km.
The children enjoyed a picnic lunch together, created some lovely leaf and bark rubbings, and learned lots about the species of trees in our surroundings.
They enjoyed hunting for giant wooden sculptures - finding an acorn, a pinecone and a sycamore! Can you spot the photo of us acting as 'helicopters', just like the sycamore seeds in the wind?
Pupils also played hide and seek between the branches of one of the giant trees - they had so much fun on our walk, which was Year R's very first school trip!
