Year 5 blog:
Y5 Bikeability
Year 5 have had a fantastic few days taking part in Bikeability training.
The children began by developing their confidence and control in the safety of the playground. They practised starting and stopping smoothly, signalling clearly, maintaining balance at slow speeds and completing controlled turns. For some pupils, this meant building confidence from the very beginning, while for others it was about refining and mastering their skills. Every single child showed patience, focus and determination as they worked hard to improve.
Once the instructors were confident in their abilities, the children progressed to riding on the road. This was an exciting step! other road users, check for hazards, and make safe decisions at junctions. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow with each session.
The children should be extremely proud of themselves, not only for developing their cycling skills, but for showing such positive attitudes and determination.
Well done, Year 5!
