Double Rainbow

Look at this beautiful double rainbow that Mrs McNicholas captured over the school!

Isn't it a fabulous photograph?

According to folklore, a double rainbow signifies new beginnings and good changes!

However, the scientific explanation is that the sun's rays are twice reflected within a raindrop. In the rainbow body, the colours are inverted - the red colour appears on the inside while the violet is on the outside. This is because the violet light reaches the eye from a higher raindrop, while the red light comes from the lower ones.

Thank you to all families for your wonderful support during our Ofsted. The report will be due to families before Christmas, hopefully.
