CAFOD Workshops
A very big thanks to Steve at CAFOD who worked with all classes today to deliver some very special Catholic Social Teaching workshops.
Pupils in KS2 discussed the Syria-Türkiye Earthquake and how charities such as CAFOD and CARITAS help in emergencies. They had a very interesting debate about the items that could be sent as part of international aid and how funds could be allocated, looking at the cost of items in bulk and putting their budget skills to good use. Pupils in EYFS and KS1 learned about poverty in Bangladesh and the conditions that many children live in. Steve taught the children about how CAFOD supports people in developing countries across the world.
Catholic Social Teaching (or CST) our moral compass, guiding us on how to live out our faith in the world. Our faith calls us to love God and to love our neighbours in every situation, especially our sisters and brothers living in poverty.
We award 'Mission Statement Heroes' each week to pupils who demonstrate Catholic Social Teaching in action, by showing God in their hearts, love in their words and family in their actions.
