Year R blog:
Year R took part in a fascinating history workshop all about old toys and how they help us understand the past. Verity from St Barbe Museum came to visit the children to talk about the old toys in the museum collection. Children were encouraged to think about what these toys can tell us about the lives of children long ago and how childhood has changed over time.
The children then compared old toys from the museum with their own toys at home. They noticed the materials, colours and mechanisms that make modern toys so different! Through play and observation, pupils discovered how toys have evolved and what this reveals about the past.
Thank you Verity for a fabulous morning!
