Year R parents came into school today to work with pupils on their reading skills!

The children read the book "The Picnic" with their parents, which focuses on the grapheme-phoneme correspondences /h/ /b/ /f/ /ff/ /l/ /ll/ and /ss/.

Children read words such as "basket," "bun", "crisps", "blanket", "fan" and "huffs" to their parents as part of the story. 

They then painted their own picnic blankets together! Aren't they fantastic?
