Pip and Pap Year 2 Workshop:

Year 2 parents and pupils enjoyed reading Pip and Pap Purple Phase Book 19, "The Auction House" together in their phonics workshop this afternoon.

This book focuses on spellings from the advanced phonetic code, such as:

'al' pronounced /ar/, in words like 'palm',

'ui' pronounced /oo/, in words like 'fruit'

'augh' pronounced /or/, in words like 'taught'

'are' pronounced /air/, in words like 'square'

In the story, Min and Dad buy a board game at the auction! Parents and pupils answered questions about the story before playing their own board games together - it was so much fun!
