Queen's Green Canopy: Deputy Lord Lieutenant Visit. Jun 2022.
Today we were visited by Amelia Ashton, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant!
All pupils were awarded a rare coin medal due to their participation in the RFS Junior Forestry Award. This acknowledges all of our environmental and ecology work that is interwoven into our school curriculum and the values to which we hold dear within our community.
Amelia awarded all children with a Platinum Jubilee 50p from the Royal Mint to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s remarkable 70 year reign and her commitment to ecology. Additionally, all children have also received a certificate for their environmental work towards the Queen’s Green Canopy as part of this award.
This 50p coin medal is a very limited edition keepsake and memento of the Platinum Jubilee. Only 7000 of these coins have been minted across the United Kingdom.
We are very proud to receive this esteemed award, as we are one of only two schools the entirety of Hampshire to receive this ‘green’ accolade.
A huge thank you to all of our staff, senior team, CARITAS, families and children who have worked tirelessly to become a Queen’s Green Canopy Award School.
