Year R Pip and Pap Phonics

ear R parents and children attended the final Pip and Pap workshop for this half term today - reading the story "Rat-a-tat-tat!" together, which contains the grapheme-phoneme correspondences /ck/, /e/, /r/ and /u/. In the story, Puck the alien knocks on different doors!

Children sounded out and blended words such as 'run', 'Puck', 'upset', 'Pock', 'tricks', 'truck' and 'rat'.

Then, with the help of their parents, the children made their own 'door hangers' for their bedrooms, for others to 'rat-a-tat-tat' on their doors! Aren't they fabulous?
