Year R blog:

Pip and Pap Parent Workshop Year R

Reception parents and pupils enjoyed a fun Pip and Pap Phonics workshop together yesterday, reading the Orange Phase story "The Pink Pot!"

Pupils taught their parents the sounds, /g/, /o/, /c/ and /k/ before reading the story together, blending words such as 'pot', 'pink', 'tag' and 'kid'.

They read sentences such as "Pip did it!" and "The pink pot!" with beautiful expression!

As part of the session, pupils and parents made their own 'pots' to take home! We hope these pots are looked after better than the one in the story!

We run parent and child workshops every other week at OLSJ, focusing on phonics, for Years R-2. Please ask your child's class teacher for more details.
