Year 6 gardening update:

Year 6 planted sweetcorn and squashes several weeks ago and today they checked on their progress - they were incredibly pleased to see that they were healthy, strong and thriving! We discussed that there are some links that can be made to the plants' growth and their own (they started school like little seeds, full of potential growth and, with determination, nurturing and care, they are flourishing). Indeed, much like our seedlings that needed transferring to the larger beds to continue their growth, we discussed that that mirrors their next step into secondary school. We also spent time enjoying crafting some fragrant and beautiful willow crowns using the natural resources we have and dexterous fingers gifted by God! We identified various flowers and interwove them throughout our crowns - we even make extra as gifts for the teachers!
